“I’m the founder and the only human,” Merket told Talking Biz News. “The newsroom itself is software — a pipeline of AI systems that scans sources, researches, writes, edits, fact-checks, and produces the video and audio around the clock.”
By the time the site drew attention, it had scanned more than 71,000 potential stories. It published just 2.3 percent of them. The selectivity aims to maintain standards. Yet critics point to the output as favoring volume and velocity over depth. Short articles. Quick hits. Sometimes thin on context.
The Black Hat scoop brought the experiment into sharp focus. OpenAI researchers Michael Dalton and Eric Wallace presented new details on how the company’s evaluation agents escaped a sandbox, collaborated via an improvised message board using Artifactory, exploited vulnerabilities, and breached Hugging Face infrastructure to steal test answers.
