The Walking Dead Takes Another Bite Out of the Olympics

AMC’s The Walking Dead once again took a ragged bite out of the Winter Olympics, topping the 9-10 p.m. EST segment of NBC’s Sunday night coverage by more than 20 percent. According to Nielsen live-plus-same-day data, the Feb. 16 installment of Robert Kirkman’s dystopian drama averaged 13.3 million total viewers and a 6.8 in the dollar demo, easily beating NBC’s analogous Olympics program (5.6).

CBS Lands Tony Gonzalez as NFL Today Analyst

CBS Sports is making some big moves at its signature pro football studio show, signing 10-time All-Pro tight end Tony Gonzalez as an NFL Today analyst. Beginning this fall, Gonzalez joins NFL Today veterans James Brown, Bill Cowher and Boomer Esiason in CBS’ New York studios. With Gonzalez in the lineup, CBS has elected not to renew the contracts of long-time NFL Today contributors Dan Marino and Shannon Sharpe.

Strong Sampling for Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show Debut

While the overnights for Jimmy Fallon’s first night at the helm of The Tonight Show were promising, it would be premature to crown the antic talk show host the King of Late Night. The special midnight edition of The Tonight Show v. 7.0 delivered a 7.1 household rating and a 20 share in Nielsen’s 56 metered markets, tying the overnights Conan O’Brien notched on June 1, 2009, with the first night of his short-lived tenancy as host.

New Site Lets Consumers Opt Out of In-Store Mobile Tracking

Ahead of a Federal Trade Commission conference Wednesday on the privacy implications of mobile device tracking in stores, airports, hotels and other public places, a new website is launching where consumers can opt out of having their location information collected. SI Swimsuit Issue Celebrates 50th Anniversary

Sports Illustrated is going all-out to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its all-important Swimsuit issue. The issue, which hits newsstands today, features not one but thee cover models—Chrissy Teigen, Lily Aldridge and Nina Agdal—on its cover, and with a total of 260 editorial and ad pages, is SI’s biggest since its blockbuster 25th anniversary issue in 1989. The issue contains 112 ad pages, a 14 percent increase over last year’s 98, and a record number of advertisers and other sponsors. Overall ad revenue is up across every platform, including print, digital and TV.

Meredith Partners With Kiip for Branded In-App Rewards

Rewards-based mobile ad startup Kiip has signed its first major media client, Meredith Corp., as the platform expands its focus outside of gaming. The mass women's magazine publisher and broadcaster will use Kiip to offer consumer rewards like coupons or product samples on its AllRecipes Dinner Spinner and Better Homes and Gardens’ Must-Have Recipes apps.  Since launching three years ago, Kiip has become best known for its in-game rewards.
