Todd Lodwick Elected As American Flag Bearer For Sochi Games

Avid Nordic sports skiier, Todd Lodwick, was chosen on Wednesday by fellow Olympian colleagues to carry the United States flag during the opening ceremonies on Friday.
As America’s first Olympian to compete in six Winter Games (yes, he has participated in six games!), the 37-year-old has so many achievements under his belt, so it’s no surprise that the nation’s most successful Nordic player would be nominated to take on such an honorary role.

A new research project valued at roughly $230 million may yield the answers for curing Alzheimer’s, diabetes, lupus, and arthritis.
Eight of the largest U.S. pharmaceutical companies are collaborating on the project with the National Institute of Health and the U.S. government to conduct extensive research on Alzheimer’s patients.

Late actor Paul Walker left behind his entire estate to one sole beneficiary — his daughter. According to court records, his daughter will inherit his $25 million estate.
About $8 million of the actors wealth is said to come from undetermined personal property, though court filings show the actor’s home is worth about $10 million.

Soldier Jailed For Fuel Theft in Afghanistan

The U.S. Department of Justice this week announced that former U.S. Army Specialist Stephanie Charboneau has been sentenced to seven years and three months in prison for her role in a plot to steal fuel from the U.S. Army.
Last September Charboneau pleaded guilty to the charges, which include bribery and conspiracy to commit bribery. Her thefts are estimated to have cost the U.S. over $1.2 million.
