Google Has Acquired SlickLogin, Which Lets You Log In Using Sounds You Can’t Hear

Google has acquired SlickLogin for an undisclosed figure. The startup launched only five months ago at TechCrunch Disrupt, and quickly managed to catch the interest of the technology giant.
SlickLogin has not even become available to the public yet, but what it does is let you log into a site without a password by holding your phone up to your computer. It plays inaudible sounds through your speakers that an app on your phone can detect and use to verify you.

After Four Years, Sony Finally Advertises PlayStation Plus

PlayStation Plus was introduced four years ago as a premium subscription service that would net subscribers free games and game discounts every month. It was totally unlike Xbox Live in that online play was still free and Plus was just a nice perk. With the PS4, PlayStation Plus is a lot more like Xbox Live and Sony apparently needs to get the word out.

Kickstarter Reveals Hack, Some User Info Compromised

Kickstarter CEO Yancey Strickler took to the company blog over the weekend to announce that they had fallen victim to a hack–one that exposed some user info including email addresses, mailing address, phone numbers, and encrypted passwords.
Strickler makes a point to say that no credit card data was accessed by the hackers.

Craigslist Killer Admits to Slaying 22 Others

A craigslist killer charged in the November murder of a man has confessed to slaying 22 other victims within the past six years.
Miranda Barbour, 19, and her newlywed husband are facing criminal homicide charges in the death of 42-year-old Troy LaFerrara.
After connecting with the victim via a Craigslist post, Barbour lured LaFerrara to a mall parking lot and then the two drove six miles into Sunbury, Penn. The post was reportedly a sexual-service advertisement set at a price of $100.

Noriaki Kasai: Veteran Ski Jumper Wins Silver Medal

In Sochi, Noriaki Kasai is proving to everyone that age doesn’t matter – especially in death-defying sports. The 41-year-old ski jumper from Japan outshone most of his younger competitors in the men’s large hill competition, earning him a silver medal. He is the oldest Olympic medalist in ski jump history.
