Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze Launches Feb. 21

Donkey Kong Country has a certain reputation. Each entry is a hard as nails platformer with varied environments and incredible music. The last game in the franchise – Donkey Kong Country Returns – nailed all of the core tenets except for the music. They’re fixing that in the latest game out this Friday.

Meryl Streep Talks August: Osage County Role

With 18 Oscar nominations under her belt, actress Meryl Streep still shows plenty of passion, and that’s not only evident in the difficult roles she plays, but you can also get a sense of that passion when she talks about choosing those roles.
Right now Streep is nominated for yet another Oscar, and she’s getting a lot of praise for playing Violet Weston in the film August: Osage County, and although she enjoyed taking on the role, she said it started out very difficult, mainly because the character she played is so flawed and the film follows a pretty dark story line.

Dotcom Raid Warrants Legal, Rules Appeals Court

The Court of Appeal of New Zealand this week ruled that the warrants executed by police in the January 2012 raid on Kim Dotcom’s mansion were legal. This is despite the fact that the Court of Appeal admitted the warrants contained “defects,” which they held should not nullify the documents as a whole.

Dan Marino And Shannon Sharpe Are Leaving CBS’ NFL Pregame Show

After several years on the NFL’s pregame show that airs on CBS before the games get started, Dan Marino and Shannon Sharpe will both be leaving the panel of experts. As they were both former NFL stars themselves, each of them had a lot to say about the game.
They will not return in the 2014-2015 season, and they will be replaced by only one person, Tony Gonzalez. It did not take Gonzalez long to find a new job, and the veteran tight end will join a panel that now consists of Bill Cowher and Boomer Esiason, and is hosted by James Brown.

Navy Ship Runs Aground: What Happened?

Well, this is embarrassing.
The USS Taylor is out of commission after it ran aground last week. The warship was one of two vessels that had been sent to the Black Sea in a show of support by the United States against any possible terrorist attacks. It was a simple matter of precaution as the controversial Sochi Winter Olympic games was thought to draw attempts to cause harm to spectators and or athletes.
Though nothing has happened as of yet, it is unknown how the US will respond to being down to one ship patrolling the Black Sea.

Wolfenstein: The New Order Launches May 20

Last year, Bethesda announced that it was putting its acquisition of id Software to good use by developing a new Wolfenstein game. That game would soon be known as Wolfenstein: The New Order and is a reboot of sorts set in a world where Nazi Germany won World War II. At the time, we weren’t given a release date outside of some point in 2014, but now we know it’s coming sooner rather than later.

Buccaneers’ New Helmets Will Be Released Tomorrow

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers truly didn’t have the best season this year, and with a finishing record of 4 and 12 it’s likely there will be some major changes during the off season.
Now, whether those changes will come on the defensive side of the ball or on the offense remains to be seen, because those things are usually fully determined several months after the season ends.

Charles Hamelin Stays Positive After Another Fall

Canadian speed skater Charles Hamelin was hopeful at the beginning of this year’s Winter Olympics in Sochi. He felt confident, and he was being touted as the skater everyone should watch out for. He was in the running for medals in all four of the men’s short track events—that is, until the unfortunate happened, and he started falling.
