Twitter Launches Promoted Accounts In Search

Twitter announced the addition of a new format to its ad platform – Promoted Accounts in Search. Twitter will show these to users in search results along with recommendations of people to follow.
Twitter says it automatically selects relevant search queries for presenting Promoted Accounts based on an advertiser’s targeting choices. Advertisers need not take any additional action to appear here.

Molly McNearney And Jimmy Kimmel Are Expecting

Funnyman Jimmy Kimmel and his wife Molly McNearney are expecting their second child together. Kimmel made the announcement on Ellen DeGeneres’ show, which will air later on this week.
“I’m having a baby….wait, I want to finish….with Ellen,” said the 46 year old. “No, I decided to have the first one with my wife. We got married in July, and you know, it’s interesting. It’s disgusting the way babies are made.”

Chuck Hagel: U.S. Defense Secretary Discusses Pentagon Budget Cuts

United States Secretary of Defense, Chuck Hagel, has outlined the Pentagon’s priorities based on 2015’s defense budget. He recommends downsizing the Army to a smaller size in order to meet the budget and balance postwar defense requirements.
At present, the Army has about 522,000 soldiers in active-duty. This number is slated to shrink down to 490,000 in 2015. Hagel also suggested lowering the number to around 440,000.

Gabriele Grunewald Reinstated as 3000m Champion

Gabriele Grunewald has been reinstated to represent Team USA at the upcoming track and field world championships in Poland. She’d been disqualified late Sunday after a competitor, Jordan Hasay, filed a protest alleging that Grunewald made more than incidental contact near the end of the USA Track and Field women’s 3000 meter championship. Now, after a chat with USATF head man Max Siegel, Hasay has withdrawn her protest and Grunewald is back on the team.
