Netflix Employee Talks DVD Germs

You may not hear as much about Netflix’s DVD business as you used to since streaming has taken over in recent years, but plenty of enveloped discs still circulate around the country on a day-to-day basis. Last month, the company said it still has 6.9 million DVD members.
There’s a good reason for that. The selection is far greater than what Netflix’s streaming service provides, though you need that if you want the originals like House of Cards and Orange is the New Black (at least the current seasons).

Bethenny Frankel announced around Valentine’s Day that her talk show had been cancelled, it was understood that she was sad to be moving on after just one season. It would have been a hard blow to anyone, but for a perfectionist like Frankel, the news seemed especially harsh. However, she recently said that the chance to take a break and move on from something that wasn’t working out like she’d planned will be nice.

Netflix has reportedly acquired its second Oscar-nominated documentary with short The Lady in Number 6: Music Saved My Life.
The film is nominated for the Documentary Short Subject category, and is up against CaveDigger, Facing Fear, Karama Has No Walls, and Prison Terminal: The Last Days of Private Jack Hall.

Gabriele Grunewald Reinstated As US 3K Champ

It’s official – Gabriele Grunewald is the US Indoor Women’s 3,000-meter champion, according to her reinstatement by USA Track and Field on Monday. Grunewald had previously won the 3K-meter run last Saturday in Albuquerque, New Mexico but was disqualified just hours after being proclaimed the winner.

Bitcoin trader Kolin Burgress is not happy with Mt. Gox. The London-native hopped a plane and headed all the way to Tokyo, Japan to let the Bitcoin exchange giant know how he felt about losing $320,000 worth of the currency.
“I may have lost all of my money,” said Burgess. He had been picketing the building since February 14th, demanding answers.
“It hasn’t shaken my trust in Bitcoin, but it has shaken my trust in bitcoin exchanges.”

Amanda Bynes: Plea Deal in 2012 Drunk Driving Case

Amanda Bynes copped a plea deal in a drunk driving case that goes back to 2012. During her arrest she refused to submit to any type of sobriety testing. She entered a plea of no contest to the misdemeanor charge of reckless driving with an alcohol component during her sentencing on Monday. She did not appear at the Los Angeles Superior Court where the hearing took place.
