Yelp CEO Pens Letter To Jan Brewer Urging Veto Of SB 1062

Yelp CEO Jeremy Stoppelman has written an open letter to Arizona Governor Jan Brewer, which was just posted to the company’s blog. Stoppelman urges Brewer to veto SB 1062, the controversial bill that would allow businesses in the state to refuse service to anyone based on religious freedom.

I write to express my concern about SB 1062 and to respectfully request that you veto this legislation.

Wedding Hall Owner Shot Dead: Political Connection?

Suffolk County police say the owner of an upscale wedding hall was shot in the head outside of his establishment on Monday.
Victim Gary Melius was reportedly shot by a masked assailant as he was getting into his car. A 9-1-1 call came in from the area at about 12:30 pm saying that shots had been fired. According to Suffolk County Detective Sgt. John O’Sullivan Melius had already been taken to an area hospital by a family member by the time police arrived on the scene.
